According to Brides.com, 35% of couples regret not hiring a videographer. Wedding cinematography is a different way of capturing your big day.
You can hear the words you spoke to your fiancé during the ceremony, see the tears in your parents’ eyes as you are walking down the aisle, and watch your family and friends party the night away on the dance floor.
There are several options for wedding films and it can be difficult to distinguish what you would really want. We talked with MIPB Family Member Anchor Weddings about what options couples have for Palm Beach wedding cinematography. Check out these wonderful examples and learn about the differences.

Highlight
The Highlight is the most well-known and popular of the wedding videos. It takes your wedding day and filters it down into a succinct 2-3 minute film. It’s perfect for social media! If you want something short and fun, this is the option for you.
“If a couple prefers to customize their package to have one long Highlight similar to a Feature Film style that’s 5-10 minutes, we are flexible with that!” – says Jess of Anchor Weddings. “These longer Highlights work well for an Elopement, small wedding, or for a couple that prefers to have one creative short wedding film.”

Feature Film
The Feature Film is a style of editing for a full-length wedding film. These are like Highlight Films but extended to 15-25 minutes. It gives you all the amazing moments of your wedding day without leaving out any of the big stuff.
Jess from Anchor Weddings says, “We love to describe our Feature Film style as a creative, cinematic film highlighting the best moments from the Wedding Day! The Feature Film also allows for a more personalized or custom feel, so that the music and editing represents not only the cinematographer’s style but your personalities as a couple!” We love that!!
She goes on to say, “From those getting ready moments to the First Look, the sentimental moments in the ceremony to the fun dancing and toasts in the reception – it’s a great way to relive the Wedding Day with friends and family in under 25 minutes.”

Documentary Film
The Documentary Film is a journalistic style of editing the film. The film unfolds as the Wedding Day actually happened. This type of film is longer, which allows you to relive every moment with ease.
“Depending on how long the ceremony was, how many toasts took place, or how many formal dance there were, a Documentary Film can range anywhere from 15-60+ minutes for a Ceremony Edit plus 15-25+ minutes for a Toast and Dance Edit” says Jess from Anchor Weddings.
“This is different from raw footage,” Jess from Anchor Weddings points out. “We make sure everything is in a chronological timeline with corrected color and audio. This may be different from other companies, so make sure to ask for a description of their film/editing process for this type of film.”

Ceremony Only
The Ceremony Only Film is just that – ceremony only. It allows couples with smaller budgets or who that are eloping to have film of their ceremony. And isn’t that what the wedding day is all about? Timing on this ranges based on the length of the ceremony.

Extras and Add-Ons
Wedding cinematography and videography companies often offer films beyond the wedding day. Think of it like this, anything event where you would want your photographer you can have your videographer! Events such as:
- Engagement Sessions
- Save the Date Films
- Bridal Showers
- Rehearsal Dinners
- Fun Reception Dancing Montages
Jess from Anchor Weddings says, “a great way to personalize your Feature Film or Highlight is to add on an Engagement Session or Day-After Session to get extra footage of the two of you. Plus, you can get great audio/interview sound bites of how you met and your love story!”
She continues, “the creativity is endless! And most wedding cinematographers love to film extra moments with their couples.”
