When Derek proposed to Jennifer at Lucky Shuck in Jupiter, he said “I wanted to propose where we said we wanted to get married one day”! Fast forward to Jan 2023 and they did just that in a stunning Palm Beach wedding.
They celebrated their Jupiter wedding at the incomparable MIPB Family Member Venue The Pelican Club. With its stunning location that offers incredible views of the Jupiter Lighthouse and inlet, what’s not to love about the Pelican Club 🙂

We didn’t have a wedding planner! My mom Linda and I planned the whole thing! She was my personal Fronk!”

Flowers: Southern Floral Company, they were great! It was wonderful how available they were during the wedding planning to be able to come into the store to go over the arrangements, the timeline etc. Their team is great at making sure every detail is done perfectly!”

Invitations and Stationary:
Our invitations meant a lot to us! They were designed and created by my husbands best friends mom Claudia Engle she is known for the duograms! Her company is Claudia Engle Designs.”
Dessert:
We loved our cake especially because it was a local baker in our town Hobe Sound, we really wanted to incorporate shop local into our weekend for our out of towners to experience our new home! We used Sweet Tiers bakery, she is absolutely amazing! So so kind really takes her time to meet her couples and makes your dream wedding cake come true! We also had a mister softe ice cream truck come to the pelican club! I love my ice cream so it was a wonderful treat to end our perfect day! Also reminded me of my days in NYC getting a cone on a hot sunny day!”
Reception and Ceremony
Ceremony and Reception Venue:
The Pelican Club was outstanding! Their team is amazing, their attention to detail is impeccable! Everything we asked for and discussed was exactly how our big day went and it was perfect!
Food and Beverage: The food at the Pelican Club is delicious from the cocktail hour, to the salads and the main courses everything is so fresh and flavorful! The presentation is beautiful! Their bartenders are great some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had at a wedding!”
Ceremony and Reception DJ:
Higher Ground was our band and we are still speechless from how amazing they were!! Their energy was great the dance floor was full the whole night! Their set lists gets everyone up and dancing! We truly danced the night away! They also provided a steel drummer for our cocktail hour, which really set the mood.”
Attire and Beauty
Bridal and Groom Attire:
My wedding dress was Eddy K I bought it East Coast Bridals they are great, we had the best experience shopping there. My wedding shoes are Jimmy Choo. My second dress was from Lola Dre, and I changed into Superga sneakers. Derek wore a brooks brothers tuxedo with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes.”
Rings:
Our wedding rings are from the same jeweler Derek bought my engagement ring in NYC.”
Hair and Makeup:
Tina Maria and her team were hair and makeup stylists! They were amazing, everyone looked beautiful! It was a blast the morning of the wedding, all of the bridesmaids and I slept at my parents house the night before. The glam team came the morning of the wedding and we all got ready together there! Best morning of my life getting ready with all of my favorite woman!”
Other Costs
Transportation:
We used Mollys Trolleys. It was so fun having everyone together on the trolley after the ceremony and driving around taking pictures!”
Fun Details:
Our wedding favors were also part of our seating chart! My mom hand painted oyster shells and wrote the guests names and their table assignment on the back with the help from my childhood friend’s Mom who has been in my life for a long time. This was one of the many personal touches to the wedding planning that made the big day so special. We also had koozies, match boxes as well as a cigar roller making cigars and placing a wrapper on them with our wedding and initials on them. Another fun detail was the live painter painting our special day throughout the evening.”
Hotel Room Block:
We only did a hotel room block at the Jupiter Waterfront Inn and they were absolutely amazing! We placed other local hotels on our website as well.”
Honeymoon:
We went to Hawaii and island hopped we had the absolute best time!! Thanks to the help of our trip planner, we used Over The Moon vacations and they planned everything! They planned everything perfectly!”
Additional Advice from the Couple
We had our rehearsal dinner at the Medalist Golf Club, that made it feel very much like home due to family living there! And our welcome drinks at Bluepoint Bar and Grill after they did a phenomenal job! We also went back there after the wedding for our after party!
